We have a dirt floor basement and a stone wall foundation. At times water seeps through the stone foundation. We have a drain to channel excessive water outside. Now we want to pour a cement floor in supprt of colums to raise the sagging joists. Should we be concerned that incoming dampness/water will cause the cement to deteriorate? Should footings for the supports be poured separately before pouring the cement floor? Should plastic/foam be laid before pouring the cement floor?
Any advice is appreciated.
