Turning a 4 car garage into a living/workshop space.

We have a 4 car stand alone garage, we would like to finish it. Right now the inside looks like a skeleton (if that makes any sense). We would like to make it semi liveable ie. water, more electric, walls.
Have no idea where to start. I'm thinking permits and such??

I would start out with someone to draw you up some prints as you will need them for permits.

We would recommend that you get a professional advice when you get the permits you are the party that is responsible.

Before having prints made. Recommend what I call a discovery. For area with water. locate the main sewer and water supply lines. Make sure the new water area is the most logical location. (ideal is close to existing water / sewer lines). The electrical make sure your existing panel will accommodate the new circuits. (consult with an electrician). After the discovery have your prints made, submit to the city for approval / permits. This will save you time, money and headaches down the road.
