What recourse do I have if a contractor is a year late on completion? We don't have a written contract - just invoices and verbal ( and emails / texts ) regarding the project. Contractor has been paid for all but about 15% of the project at this point and we are in a situation where we have a lot of half complete rooms. We basically beg him to show up and complete the work - day in and day out. He often goes 2-3 weeks without responding or showing up.
