What do I have to do to get a contractors licence in California? And what does it cost?

Go to CSLB.com, or California State License Board, and they will have all of the details. I think it was about 250 for the application fee, then you have to get an FBI background check done and finger prints which is 70 or 80 bucks, then you have to pass both a law exam and a trade exam, then you have to pay another 150 for your actual license fee, and you have to be bonded as well.
