He owes me almost ten thousand dollars for work he was unqualified to do and costs to repair damage that he did to our property. He is a con. He does a couple very, very small jobs well and then takes a deposit for a large project and disappears. He will tie you up all day when you have an appointment just to no show. Don't trust him. Anyone he owes money too should reach out to me and lets see if we can file in court together or at least stop him from harming others. tracyecoates@gmail.com
This guy Edward Crout is a con!! Edward Crout the owner gave me a quote and required a deposit for supplies and paint. The deposit was for half of the amount to paint my home and garage. I wrote Edward a check for $3280. Edward said he would start the project in 2-3 days pending on weather. He was supposed to begin May 12 2021. Edward never showed up. I communicated with him mostly through text because my calls were being ignored. It was one excuse after another as to why he had not shown up.
He would text that he would start Monday, or wed, or on the weekend, but would never show up or inform me that he was not coming. This went on until the end of August!!! It was all kinds of excuses, rain, car failure, family emergency, he was in the hospital (twice) finally I told him to return my deposit and I no longer want him to do this project since it appeared he never was going to show up. Again it was one excuse after another as to why he had not retuned my deposit. I finally called Adrian police and made a police report. The officer did get a hold of Edward, and Edward told him he would be returning my deposit and supplies with receipt. Edward never showed up. So basically I was ripped off. Sad and terrible that he would took all my savings, I'm a single mom and saving up that money took me lots of sacrifice. I'm hoping at least he gets some kind of charges against him.
My husband contacted Ed based on reviews from this site. The couple of bad reviews on this site are more accurate than the good ones. Ed came immediately to our home to give us a quote. He is quite the salesman because we hired him on the spot. His price was great and it included paint. Ed said he could start right away. I still needed to pick paint colors, which he did help me with. I told him I was pretty picky and he assured me he was a perfectionist (which he is not). He also assured me that the person who matches and mixes his paint was amazing. Well his amazing paint mixer is not so amazing. I have a couple of different colors on my walls which are suppose to be the same. Ed did paint the upstairs first and I was disappointed with my color choice, so he repainted it. We did compensate him for the additional time and I did pick up and purchase the paint. We did add the ceilings, which were to include the two stairways. I noticed that I could see roller marks throughout the home and pointed it out. He did touch up several walls, but assured me he would do a total walk through after he was done and correct any areas. After he painted the upstairs, I noticed drip marks on my brand-new hardwood floors (they didn't cover the floors). I spent hours trying to get the specks off. He did have someone try to get the specks off as well, however, I still had to go over it again. Fortunately, he covered the flooring on the lower level. His job took longer than quoted and I needed to go out of town. Ed had painted the ceilings for the stairways, but since the flooring on those areas were not completed, he told us he would come back and finish it when the flooring was completed. He also told me to mark any areas and he would fix them when he returned (which there are a lot). Well, that was back in July and it is now October and no sign of Ed. He did get sick, however, that was back in July. He would sometimes respond, but never followed through. Unfortunately, my husband paid him in full because Ed assured him he had looked and fixed the marked areas, which he didn't. Our next step is small claims court. It is worth paying more and going elsewhere. Very disappointed!!
