Why Does My Garage Door Not Stop Closing And Opening?

When I try to close my garage door it automatically opens again although I pressed the button to close it only. I just got through putting a new worm gear in it, replaced and rescrewed everything correctly yet I have this problem. Anyone have a solution. I have a 1998 Craftsman .5 horse opener.

Sounds like a bad infrared sensor. The beam at the bottom of the door.
