I hired a guy who is the general contractor and the artchitect for cheap at the beginning. but later on, he started to charge that and that, what should i do, should i get a new gc and artchitect.
Well if he gave you a contracted price, then I would bring that up to him and refer to your contract. If you didnt get a contract or a quote on work, not an "estimate" these are just what they say an estimate. But if he quoted you a price for that specific work to be done then the work should be done at that agreed upon price. However if other sitiuations come up like additional permits, planning, change of designs, restocking fees, these are what they call additional fees, most of the times these should never exceed over 15-20% of the original quote/contract. Changing contractors in the middle of the job can be quite costly I recomend looking at this websites dispute suggestions and seeing if you and your contractor can come to a balanced agreement. Good luck with your project!!!
