Garage Door

My garage door is not opening and closing properly.
I have a Craftsman 1/2 hp opener.
The door upon activation to open will stop and try to close. Or it will begin to open when attempting to close. The unit is not blinking the bulb light to indicate an error. However the green light on the back of the unit does blink.
May this be the spring(s) or time to replace the opener?
