Replacing bathtub surround. Tearing old one out, discovered part of green wall had to be replaced. The green wall sits on top of bathtub flange, correct? The wall is crooked and the wall board overlaps the flange in places. What can be used to fill this space ?

If that makes any sense, help please.

Thank you.

When replacing the wallboard around the tub you want to ensure that it is sealed correctly to prevent water and moisture from reaching the framing. The wallboard should sit on top of the flange that is correct. This will leave about 1/2" to 3/4" gap to the tub.

If you plan to install tile over the wallboard I would recomend that you use a product called Kerdi http://www.schluter.com/8_1_kerdi.aspx

This will water proof the wall and you can fill the void with thinset then cover with tile.

Follow the link I provided and you will see details of how the product is installed and the benefits you will gain.
