Seasonal Decorating

I was recently at someone's home who was in the process of changing everything because of spring time. Apparently, she redoes her house for each season. Nothing major like new furniture or paint, but it includes different slip covers, accessories, curtains, things like that. I was wondering if anyone has ever heard of anyone doing this. It's a cute idea if you have the time since it really changes the look of your home and cuts away the boredom of looking at the same thing everyday.

My wife also does the same thing. She says it freshens up the house and clears away the damp corners! But using lighter tomes in the coverlets and cushions during spring does have a calming effect.

yes the idea is good, but ever think of the cost? you need to repaint the house, buy new furnitures and so on. that is if you're really into it.

This would really be great especially if you have the luxury of time to change decorations from time to time. Moreover, it is also important to consider the availability of budget. My grandmother is very particular when it comes to seasonal decorating. I love how cozy her home is during winter.

My mother changes her decor often, not only for a different style, but also for winterizing and cutting energy costs depending on the season. In the summer months, she decorates the windows with fabric sheets. It keeps out the hot sun and provides a dramatic and least expensive way to add color/pattern to brighten a room. Seasonal decorating can pull a room together to achieve a unified look.

That seems like a great idea, I was watching an episode of jen and barb (jebandbarbmomlife.com) and they had a guest decorator. She had some great tips, I thought you might find it helpful. (:
