We've all had places in the home where we've discovered mold. This growth is not only the symptom of excess moisture in an area it is a health problem for many.
Molds are a natural organism and are responsible for the breaking down of dead organic material. This organism reproduces by producing tiny spores which are basically invisible to sight. They float around in the air both inside and outside of the home gravitating to an area of moisture where mold will germinate from the spore.
If there is mold in a corner of your home you have to "chase it." This may be going after the water source and sending this flow whether it is fixing a pipe or putting in a dehumidifier.
If it is behind a wall it is best to call in a mold remediation company. However, of you want to do it yourself buy a quality mold killer and a respirator. You'll have to scrub the area with the anti-mold compound and rinse the scrub brush many times. The let the dehumidifier go to work for a few days. Then repeat the process. If you have treated all the mold wares the air should start to smell better. If it doesn't then call a company to go after it. This is not time to be vain, especially when the problem could be greater than you think.
