His work was unacceptable. He abandoned the partially completed job. Other tile contractors I interviewed to complete the job all said it had to be completely redone. I had to pay to have his work torn out and the substrate as well. The sustrate and new tile had to be purchased and reinstalled properly.
Specifically, the tiles were unevenly cut, the tile surfaces were not flush to each other, the shower pan was pierced with nails, the layout failed to carry through, the bathtub valve stems were bent.
