After finding these other reviews regarding Ron Macaro, I wish we would have researched him more before deciding to work with Ron on acquiring some music equipment for our restaurant. We began working with Ron in early November of 2016. We placed an order for equipment and gave him a check for all of the equipment to process the order. At that time we were told a few weeks for the delivery. In early December we still had not received anything and were told the equipment was back-ordered. As of early January, still no equipment. In early February we were told the equipment was on its way, and Ron completed the install of some wiring and asked for some of the payment for the labor. We made the mistake of cutting a check again, and then Ron disappeared after that. We called him many times and left messages, asking for an update on the equipment delivery, or a refund of the money we gave him. We never received any responses after the beginning of February. As of July, we still do not have our speakers, and no money has been refunded (over $1,000). DO NOT use Ron Macaro for any of your sound system needs, as he will scam you.
showselieve him but after reading what had been written about him I had little faith in what he was saying. I asked for proof of this correspondence, he never sent it. The next day I asked for my money back. His story is that he had purchased it on a pre paid credit card and it would take some time for the refund to go through. I waited. Nothing. I called repeatedly. I checked in on his other "jobs" they were getting a similar run around. After a few weeks I let him know that I would contact the authorities if he didn't show me an intent to pay me back. At this time he brought in $50 of the $800. Although I was grateful I had gotten some of the money back there was a significant sum left and for the next few weeks I called him almost everyday. He gave me excuses via text message and sometimes would answer. Finally I contacted the police to get some information and they said, as long as he is in contact with you and telling you he'll pay you back there's nothing we can do. So, I hounded him until he finally dropped off a check. He immediately texted me to not cash the check. There were insufficient funds. Of course. He made two other drops of $50 and then silence. For weeks. I had told him I'd write a review and I did. He said it wasn't helping him to get work to pay me back, I said you shouldn't have spent that money. He asked me to take them down, I said where's my money? And one day, he finally shows up with the remainder. That's the story. Draw your own conclusions.
I agree that Ron Macaro is a thief. Worse part is I knew him so I didn't research him prior. He did some wiring and stole the rest of the money without every finishing the job or bringing the camera system that was paid for. It turns out he has a criminal history for the same thing. DO NOT GIVE HIM A DIME. Steals from people he knows even.
Ron Macaro is a THIEF!!!! He completed the wiring because he was paid after the job was completed, but it was a shoddy job at best. Wires were ran up the side of my house instead in inside the walls, which he said he would come back and fix - he did not. Phone wire from the pedestal was run across the parking area, instead if through the conduit (under the parking area). Again, he did not come back to fix.
He required that the 65" 3D flat screen tv be paid in advance, and that was the last time we saw him. He had more excuses than anyone I've ever met. If we threatened him with legal action, that was the only time we heard from him - with yet another excuse. IF you hire him, do not pay him ANYTHING until the job is complete, and to your satisfaction. I would never recommend him.
