Lockhart Painting
Do not use these people. They were the highest bid we had but said they could get the job done within our time frame. He asked for a half-down deposit immediately, which we paid and he cashed THAT day. Suddenly, the job was delayed to a time when we could have had a cheaper contractor. The job was TERRIBLE. They damaged our knee wall with the power washing. They only applied one coat of paint when two were agreed. Our original color was a peachy tone which bled through in many places.... The door frames, around the windows, near the ceilings. There is bronze overspray on our white soffits and gutters. The knee wall was not repaired properly (they CAULKED a huge cement wall crack) and by the time the paint dried, it had pulled away. They never filled any holes or splintered areas and just painted over it. AFTER the paint job, the darker blue paint on the knee wall was chipped off by something they did, apparently, down to the cement. So my husband refused to pay until the job was fixed. The guy came out and together they walked around and marked the problems. It took days for him to come back. Our outdoor cameras and doorbell caught the conversation of them saying that they were only going to touch up the side wall and NOT paint the whole wall. It is visible where they just touched up with a roller and the guy says they painted the whole wall. The cameras work. After they came back, we now have paint on our lanai cabinet, and on the side of our hot tub. We have indentations on our hot tub cover. They broke the clips on the cables trying to paint and just left the wires hanging. They again demanded the rest of their money and my husband told them the job was not completed to satisfaction. The work is shoddy! I could go on and on. He said he would come back out and while my husband and I were out this morning, he came back to our house and broke into our lanai because we checked the door prior to leaving knowing he was going to show up. We have on camera one of them manipulating the door until it opened and he came onto our porch without permission. He stuck the cables back into the broken clip and says he is no longer responsible for that. He messaged my husband asking for his money blaming my husband for not being home and saying that I was in the house when I was not. I would not have answered the door if I were here because he is intimidating. He said he would put a lien on our home when my husband said the job was not done satisfactorily and requested a reduction of $500 for compensation to fix the rest himself. So, as of now, we are paying him the entire agreed upon fee for a VERY poor job and a lot of stress. We will fix the rest ourselves but will be posting this everywhere we can. I ALWAYS give good reviews when they are warranted to give people business but there is nothing good to say about this company.
From my initial meeting with Paul Lockhart to the completion of the work, I was elated with this contractor and his staff on the amazing and professional work completed. They use a spray and rolling techniques which left a nice distribution of paint on my home. The painter (Guy) did an outstanding job of spraying even in the high winds we were experiencing. Paul and his employees were definitely easy to communicate with on all levels and always asked permission to perform certain tasks before actually completing the work. The products that they used on the job was definitely quality and they explained to us the benefits of each one and the role they played in protecting our home from the elements. Another aspect is that they told us when we should be expecting them each day and never deviated from their timetable. I would not hesitate in using or referring Paul and his company on any job. This in my opinion is a 5 star operation.
