This individual had over 3 months to complete multiple repairs to my home. Even after a change of the original plans, there was still ample time to complete a majority of the repairs. Everytime I would ask about progress, I was told things were on track OR there was always an excuse to something not happening. In the final week, after threatening to fire him, I would get the excuse that he has material specific to my projects, so I would agree to let him continue. 5 days after the deadline, he still didn't get finished with most projects! And this was while LIVING ONSITE! He is not a qualified contractor for even minor home repairs. After he was gone I saw more and more of the disrepair he left. I now have to hire someone to come into my home and fix the problems he created! And the amount of money he received up front did not equal the amount of materials and labor that was performed.
- the inside of the wall he built has 10 drywall seams and every seam (on both sides) that he taped and mudded is so visible, it cannot be painted over without re-mudding or texturizing now
- no baseboards were reinstalled anywhere
- paint colors were not comparable to previous colors (see pic for difference in teal) and was not disclosed other than multiple color swatches of options he was picking from
- landing tile was not installed or even started
- he replaced/made the bases for 2 requested porch posts, but did not bevel or match them to the others like requested
- replaced 3 porch spindles, without putting into play there were multiples next to them that also needed replaced! All he had to do was call and ask to add them as well
- he did not reconnect the front porch rail after installing the provided post. His excuse was that the post was smaller than the original, but anyone knowing what they're doing would have offset the pole the 1/2" to make it connect - or cut a shim to connect the space
- my new living room floor has a soft spot that was supposed to be leveled when he "raised" the floor joists....that soft spot has now cracked my new laminate wood flooring. He said it would settle in over time and not have issues. It took 3 days to fail and crack
- I have no idea what he raised. Everything is now covered up and can't get to it without ripping out the new flooring. I don't even know if he put actual supports under those joists or if they are laying in dirt to begin rotting right away
- the day after leaving, he said that Lowes finally had the sliding barnwood kits in stock. I could have ordered one 2 months ago on Amazon and had it onsite in 2 days
- he never got to painting the floor like requested. But 4 days after he has left, the bunkbed is still tacky to touch
- the doorway opening of the new wall is not even and the sides do not line up with each other
I've rated him as very courteous because he was! Always told me what he thought I wanted to hear.
I've attached some pictures.
