I'm thinking of replacing a shower curtain with a tub door. My tub is made of cultured marble.
I'm seeking advice on what brand to get (Kohler, MAAX, Sterling, etc.), whether to get one framed or unframed, where to get it (Home Depot, Lowe, other?)
Kohler is the best brand and our company recommends it.
My suggestion would be to call a local glass company or two to get the pros ideas and cost, pros & cons of all.
Just saying it always proves to leave it to a pro.
You may want to look for a local glass Co or a shower door Co and get a quote from them. They usually can get you faster service if its special ordered. They also will be able to offer thicker glass and other options that are better than the store bought ones.
If cost is an issue and you are installing yourself do a Kohler. Lowes usually has better options available. Just make sure to read your. Framed and come down the look andcost for you. Frameless looks cleaner and less places for mildew to possible grow.
Good luck
Hello,
What visual effect are you looking for?
It appears you put some deep creativity into the tub itself, being of the Marble persuasion. Having put that much thought into the fixture, don't rush into a production door unit, give yourself some time to do the research. Look to see what others and designers have done.
When you find a design you like, try to find out if it's a custom or production unit. Make the budgeted and informed decision.
Hope this will give you some creative thinking strategy??
Good luck in your venture.
Kohler and sterling make quality materials in my experience. I would get it framed if possible. Most likely you will need to special order from a plumbing company.
